And just like that, winter has come to Brisbane. Not the best news because winter means flu season and with corona virus around, it might help the virus thrive. But what do I know, I’m not an expert on that. But Queensland has done a really good job in managing the health crisis. I have seen more days where there are no new reported cases. Actually, the whole of Australia is doing a great job with no more than 20 cases per day. Of course, we still want the number to go down but this is far more better than other countries. It helps that Australia is a land on its own. And even before, Australia is know for its strict quarantine protocols, Risk Management, etc. In fact, I used to joke about Australia being too serious with risk assessments (me coming from a third world country). Every one in the workforce have their own risk assessment depending on what kind of task we do. I learned my lesson. I will never question that again.

So, winter. Last season we had a very short winter. This time it came early and it feels like it’s gonna be here longer. I personally like winter because I sweat a lot. I only need to cover myself not to get any colds and not worry about sweating like a pig.

Australia is easing down on its lockdown protocols. We went to Inala today for our grocery run and there were so many people already. We are still wearing our masks. Dara, Marcus and me. We use mask so we refrain from touching our face. It looks like everything is going back to normal. I just wish that this reopening of some businesses and allowing people to go back out again is not too soon. I trust the Au government, but I will still be very careful.
