Pumpkin Carving for 2022 Haloween
Marcus and dad trying their first carving of an actual pumpkin for Haloween 2022. I could say, we did quite well for 1st timers.
Fishing | Jindalee Boat Ramp Park
Tried fishing on the Brisbane River today at Jindalee Boat Ramp Park. We haven't done river fishing in a long time so we weren't really sure. But it turned out to be alright. It didn't dissapoint. Place is teeming with catfishes and other fish we can't recognize. It was a good day for fishing.
Planter Boxes Project
Abit of an upgrade at our mini backyard. We had some custom made planter boxes. Waterproofed it with marine grade paint. Bought some mountain soil from FB marketplace. Added some potting mix and manure mixture from Bunnings. And voila! Next project: Automatic Watering System.
Sunday Biking | Rocks Riverside Park
Rocks Riverside Park is a huge park by the Brisbane River in Seventeen Mile Rocks with lots of bike lanes connected to other suburbs. It's just about 10 minutes drive from home. I was really more concerned with the bikes on top of our little Mazda workhorse. But as always, "Lightning" the car, and the roof rack setup was reliable. Marcus still uses his training wheels. I'm not gonna rush him. Not too worried about that as long as he is always excited to go biking. Nice way to end the weekend.
Biking | Quick bike to Taringa Playground Park
A quick bike ride with Marcus to and from Taringa Playground Park. Brisbane is in lockdown from Covid so it was just a quick bike around. We also had to go out so mum can join her zoom meeting without the little one interrupting. :-)
Cycling | Indooroopilly River Walk
I hope I can keep it up but I plan on commuting to work by bike. For a number of reasons... but mainly because I don't have any form of exercise any more. So I got this hybrid/commuter bike and went on a test ride today. Went on a cycling way near Indooroopilly just to give the bike a go. Also tested on uphill rides as my area has lots of hills. I must say, it went very well. I've always drove a car all my life in Brisbane. So let's see how long I can go with this. Some pics
