Our second visit to Stanthorpe. Exactly a year ago, we were also here checking out some local attractions. This time, we just wanted to go camping.
We knew that it was gonna be a cold weekend so we came prepared. We brought a heater, electric bed covers and heaps of winter clothes. Learned it the hard way on some of our first camping trips.
But the big surprise was the heavy rain along the way. It’s a 3 hour drive from Brisbane and and we arrived (Friday evening) a bit late as it became harder to see the road. We had to be extra cautious. When we arrived, there was a bit of rain in the campground. Luckily we had our “Instant Up” tent so we got it all set up pretty quick. It was a good decision to pick this kind of tent.
On our way home (Sunday), we checked out Summerland Camels (I didn’t know Austraia had camels). Marcus had fun feeding them. Then we had afternoon tea at Granite Belt Christmas Farm (where it is always Christmas all year round) before finally driving back home.
